Yohay Hemo

Yohay was born in 1997 and grew up in Tel Aviv.

He began his dance journey as a child in the Israeli dance troupe “Kedmat Habama”.

Following his national army service duties, he trained in the Bikuri HaItim Dancers’ Training Program, Maslool, directed by Ofir Dagan and Naomi Perlov, in 2018-2019. As part of the program, he deepened his knowledge of classical ballet and contemporary dance, and experienced working on the works of various choreographers.

Since 2020, Yohay has been studying for a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and physics at Tel Aviv University, and is expected to graduate in 2025.

Yohay joined Kamea Dance Company as a dancer in November 2024.

“Towards the end of my electrical engineering studies, I felt a renewed passion for dancing and the urge to be doing what gives me joy and meaning. Watching the company’s “White Face” performance moved me greatly and led me to try to be accepted into the company. I am excited about the opportunity to be part of unique and inspiring creations, to develop as a dancer in a rich and diverse framework.”
