Our new evening will premiere in March 2024, “White Face”, an evening shared by Tamir Ginz and Nacho Duato.
“White Face” by Ginz, explores the dark side of human emotions. The work is set out to create a multi visual experience as Ginz is collaborating for the first time with the talented multidisciplinary Beer sheva based artist Gil Nemet both for original music and video art.
The masterpiece “GNAWA”, by Nacho Duato (Spain), one of the most prestigious international choreographers of our time, brings to the stage a display of dance virtuosity at its best. Gnawa returns to Kamea’s repertoire in a moving courteous gesture from Nacho Duato to Ginz, Kamea Dance Company and the audience in Israel.
Ginz shares his thoughts on the process and premiere: “I was drawn to explore the relationship between the offender and the victim, where the boundaries blur and cause one person to hurt another person, even with the power of words alone… I am intrigued in this work to try and express what that makes me feel in the veins of my body.
In addition, I thought to myself, given Israel’s state of mind at the current events, “what piece would make the audience feel uplifted in our show?”, and Nacho Duato’s “GNAWA” was immediately the ultimate choice for me. Nacho is one of the most prestigious choreographers in the world, and bringing his piece to a Kamea is a very challenging task in all respects at the best of times. This mesmerizing piece was performed by leading dance companies in the world. I spoke to Nacho and shared with him our difficulties in the shadow of the great crisis in Israel. In a moving gesture of trust and love, Nacho gave me the piece as a “gift” for Kamea Dance Company, for our audience. I am incredibly grateful and deeply touched by his generosity“.
