Nacho Duato (Spain)

Nacho Duato is undoubtedly one of the greatest choreographers of our generation.
He began his career as an astonishing dancer at NDT under Jiri Kilyan and became
an acclaimed choreographer whose works have been staged all over the world by highly acclaimed companies including American Ballet Theatre, Nederlands Dans Theatre, The Australian Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadians, Stuttgart Ballet, San Francisco Ballet,
Hubbard Street Dance Co., The Royal Ballet (UK), Paris Opera Ballet and Martha Graham Dance Company.
After two decades in which he led the Spanish National Dance Company (CND) and where his best works were created,
Duato directed the Michalowski Theater in St. Petersburg.
In 2014 – 2019 Duato took over the artistic director position of the Berlin Opera Ballet, Germany.
Back in Spain, his creations are mounted in the Spanish National Dance company.
Duato presented his masterpiece “GNAWA” in 2017 and 2024 in Kamea.
